These people should look into the past when we toured England and matches got finished in 2 or 3 days or earlier. There isn't much difference, in hindsight if we see our players have problems playing in swinging conditions and there players have problem playing spin. It has nothing to do with surface, remember this was pink ball test, therefore this test shouldn't be taken in account. Chennai 2nd test went into 4th day, first test got result on the 5th day. If you will analyse most of the pink ball tests than you will see on an average it got over in 2.5 days. In my view these pink ball tests should be stopped as people come to enjoy day night test match of 4-5 days and if it doesn't last for that long than there is no point of organizing pink ball test matches as it will bring more and more debate like this. So please stop this pink ball drama and get a life and move on.

Stunned to see even those who hv played test blame the pitch. None blamed d pink ball. Also ones who played this test said d pitch had no devil. Batters fell to bad shots. Bowlers dominated! Nothing more. Axar, Ashwin, Root n Leach were superb.

To quote Virat, he was upset after first match that the toss played such a big role on that pitch. And its true for most of the cases when experts talks about better pitches, i.e. play the best in first 2 days or so and then explode on the last 2 days. How is that fair to the team batting 2nd, they have to score runs in more difficult circumstances than the first one. Same reason why Virat was advocating for the wicket where toss should not be the deciding factor and in that sense at least the conditions wise, both these pitches were more fare than the first one. I feel the same about day night matches when dew affects the games in second part, isn't it unfair to see the guys who struggles against spin, then suddenly becomes monster when the dew makes spinners ineffective

Some Indian fans are saying we should not have such pitches so we can see hard fought matches. I don’t understand their point. If England cannot play spin and score 250 plus, how is it our fault. Australia did not make the Gabba pitch spin friendly so India could compete. Two of India players broke their hand and rest got hit across the 4 tests but they battled through the conditions - that is what made it a compelling series even for Australian fans that a team came and played in conditions alien to them. England needs to do the same. Indians go to SENA pitches and get green tops or pitches in Australia which has bounce and big cracks - then Indians are flat track bullies and then if there are spin friendly pitches we make dust bowls. How about pitches that in the first over seam 15 degree not because of the overcast conditions but due to the green left.

Forget the pitch and let's talk about the ball. The pitch is very similar to indian wickets. But the ball added that extra dimension that made it harder.

Okay according to me this is what happened -: 1) The pitch is Kinda DECENT ... On a normal red ball game ... The match could have easily lasted for 3/4 days ... Or at max 5th day 1st session ( Maybe) ( We can see it in the 4th test) . If the 4th test too end within 2 days... Then there is are major problems to get addressed (Lets see in the next game hopefully lasts for atleast 4 days) 2) The pink ball played a huge factor here ....Sixteen pink-ball Test matches have been played so far, with only five of those stretching up to the fifth day... There was uneven bounce in the pitch .... Look at Ishant's first over on first day ... 3rd ball maybe it stayed very low considering its the first over.... For spinners too... The ball had uneven bounce.... And Extra *Drift*.. Yes ... the shiny extra coating of the pink ball helps it to skid fast on the surface ( Also addressed by Root) 3) Now why that caused a trouble to the batsmen ??! Why Axar was super effective than other bowlers??! Cause of pace ... The pitch was kinda normal not a rank turner .... 21 wickets taken in the entire match out of 30 were from straight balls... Which skid and drifted fast from the surface.... And this explains Axar's effectiveness .... He doesn't have that much variations but has Arm and Regular left arm spin delivery... But the variation in pace caused a huge trouble for the batsmen .... With great pace... More drift and skid (help of the pink ball) and with less pace... More spin... 3) By all these reasons it was tough for the batsmen to play in such conditions... And yes it was poor batting from both the sides... Thats what I feel...

Yuvraj is loosing respect day by day by doing or writing unnecessary things. I am pretty sure Harbhajan also got spin friendly pitches at times in his career . 90% of ashwin wickets are from the matches lasted atleast 4 days .

Surprised to see that panelists are staying that Harbhajan is better away bowler than Ashwin. In fact Ashwin has better strike rate and average than Harbhajan at home and away as well. If you don't believe me check it in howstat.
